How We Work
Dougherty Construction Inc is a premium contractor in Northeast Tennessee. We are bonded and insured. Employees have Workers’ Compensation coverage. We are a licensed business in Johnson City, and registered with the Secretary of Labor in the State of Tennessee. In addition, we are active members of the Johnson City Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
Through standardized practices, we hold ourselves to the highest degree of knowledge, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. We pride ourselves in offering the newest and highest-quality products.
Bill Dougherty
William “Bill” Dougherty is the founder of Dougherty Construction Inc. With an extensive background in engineering and construction, Bill started the company, formerly known as Dougherty Creations and Construction, in 2015. Dougherty Construction became incorporated in 2025.
Bill and his crew have spent the last decade building a strong customer base – relying mainly on referrals as advertisement – and community ties through sponsorship of local sports teams and events. Dougherty Construction Inc partners with local high school CTE programs to offer work-based learning opportunities to help grow the next generation of construction workers and leaders. Bill believes that cultivating a love of learning for the trades will enhance the future of the workforce, while simultaneously strengthening the community.

Jared Malone
Jared Malone is the Project Manager for Dougherty Construction Inc. Customer service and relations are at the forefront of Jared’s role. In addition, Jared effectively manages employees and jobsites. He also plays an integral role in community outreach through work-based learning and multiple ministries.
